Stories move people. Statistics inform them.
Data tells you what's happening. Story tells you why it matters. Both are necessary, but I've seen a well-told story change a room in ways a spreadsheet never could.
Access to justice is not a niche issue.
When people can't understand the laws that govern them, or the rights they're entitled to, the system fails them twice. Making legal information accessible is one of the most radical things you can do.
Ethical storytelling means asking who holds the pen.
Every story is also a choice about power. I believe deeply in telling stories with communities, not about them - and in the responsibility that comes with having an audience.
Curiosity is a form of respect.
Wanting to understand how something works - a law, a policy, a community, a person - is the beginning of every good piece of work I've ever done. I don't stop asking questions.
Small things compound.
A first-time donor who stays. A young person who learns their rights. A survivor who understands what's happening in court. These aren't small wins - they're what systemic change actually looks like up close.
Community is the whole point.
Whether I'm building a donor retention program or a civic fellowship, I'm ultimately trying to help people feel less alone in caring about something hard. That's the work.
